Depression is a DISEASE. It's not a bad mood, it's not about having a bad day. If you break your leg, you will seek a help, if you get sick, you'll go to a doc.
You can hardly fight those thoughts when the depression attacks.
Please get help and write to the forum as often as you can. Try to answer other people's questions and try to help them and give them advice of your own. It may help YOU when you care about problems of others.

Don't kill yourself dude. No matter how bad you feel just now circumstances change daily. Old cliche but in Yeats from now looking back you will wonder why you ever thought about it. I wish you all the best mate and things will not look so bleak in the near future.

Sometimes I think it could be a good Idea to let younger gay and bi People stay in their holidays in families of older gay, bi oder straight - people ( with gay-family experiences ) to show them how great gay etc. -life can be. That would show possibilities, lifestyles... and could prevent depressions and wrong views which our youth sometimes has.

That is a fantastic idea fen.
I think a lot of their fear and insecurities stem from not knowing, how normal and great it could be.

No. No one near you will notice, after all this is a slow steady with drawl. We humans adapt to slow change, its the sudden changes or when we have been away and return and things have changed slowly that we notice. We notice hair cuts - they are sudden changes in hair style, we do not notice hair growing.

I said in an earlier post that you are depressed and your take on life is a symptoms/sign of depression. Talk to your parent(s) and get some professional help.

A therapist is what you need most of all at this point. At least 4 - one hour meetings with him/her to help get some bearing on where you are mentally and emotionally. A psychologist (therapist) rarely has an MD, thus will not immediately start throwing pills at you. A psychiatrist will spend 15 minutes with you and throw a prescription for the latest antidepressant.

You need to understand that you are not alone. A lot - perhaps most - teens suffer from some form of depression. Anxiety is the flip side of the same coin and when you throw that in there then you definitely get most teens are depressed.

Human society has become so complicated to where it scares the shit out of anyone to grow up. Throw in raging hormones and a changing body, throw in normal teen issues and you have a lethal, toxic brew that can bring down the strongest of people.

A therapist can be the greatest person that ever walks into your life. While they rarely say much, just making noises of affirmation and asking you over and over again 'How does that make you feel?' It is a process of discovery and peeling the onion that can help anyone.

I suspect that by the time you hit 20 this part of your emotional experiences will be near an end - meaning that you most likely will 'grow out' of depression. This doesn't mean you will not have bouts later on in life (it happens to all of us, depression is not so much a mental illness as we once thought, it is part of human experience, part of a larger array of emotions).

As long as there is nothing organically or chemically wrong with you, therapy should get you through the worst and provide you with tools for you to deal with life on general terms.

And it does get better. Been there, done that and it got better.

Depression is nothing to play about, We've all been there. You got strong support from all here at GS. Take care

at mental health drop in place there was a poster"its no ones fault"mental illness or depression-its a chemical imbalance

are meds the way?dr breggin on facebook etc says no

but there may be better therapies

you need help and a good doctor if you've thought of suicide

or go to a liberal church somewhere ,not just talk to internet people, which can be good but can also be bad
