have you ever recieved abuse just bacause your gay?
#41
Ufff.. Unfortunately yes, I've received a lot of abuses... mostly verbal. Since I've realized that I am slightly different - I was 13-14yo - there were many very abusive situations... guys from the school payed heed to me because of I have never played their stupid games (like throwing frogs against a wall or something like that).
So, at the uni I was not sociable too but I was reputated as talanted student so others have not pressed me... but I have had nobody to talk about the sexuality and other issues worrying more and more. Even my family - parents and bro - they knew nothing. Luckily now I have friends, straights and gays, and I have no such problems anymore...
But anyway I must hide my sexuality at work, I can not demonstrate it outside because people mostly aren't tolerant and I am always can be insulted just because I'm a gay... ((

It's a sad situation that we read about in Russia these days. Not the right path to tread towards an evolved country in terms of human rights, I'm afraid, but let's hope that these things will change with time, (not too long, I hope).

(( I am afraid, this country will never be changed. I thought a lot about this - Russia is very strange country, we're placed between Europe and Asia that predetermines a lot of "why"... I am tired hoping for Best, I'm already 27 and want to change something because in this country we have no future. Here we're in danger - last Levada Centre's public opinion poll shows that 85% of russian people are negative to LGBT. Imagine, one of most high-ranking men in our goverment has officially (!!!!!) stated last week that "unfortunately, we have annuled the asset (against homosexuals, in our criminal legislation) but, hope, we will return it soon back...". ((( Imagine! I am already almost a prisoner ((
So, being closer to the thread, abuse is much worse not when it is from any person but when it is from your nation, from your law... much worse...

Yes I think you're right Lynx... It's much worse when it's enforced and condoned by the state. Not a nice state of affairs. I'm still hoping that these views will change though. They've changed here, why shouldn't they finally change in Russia too... give it time.

This really saddens me but the fight never ends anywhere. Any country can slip backwards so easily.

I hope that we all have the power to fight those that are against equality and support those that are in the middle of it all.

good luck lynx,

hugs,
frank

Yes, you're right, but Europeans are being changed for last hundred years evolutionally, with respect to a personality... And it's absolutely different ((

fjp999, to fight... but against what? We wouldn't fight against 85% of russians, moreover we rather can not claim our rights on the march / gay-pride as the police will announce this out of the law and will catch all of us.

Otherwords, it is not the issue to confide our sorrow ))) everything is ok as all I can feel, think, believe and what I am living for - these all are inside, it's for ever mine and noubody can take it away. Changing myself I am always changing the environment )))

Another guy that i went out with now doesnt want anything to do with me cause im now gay
I also get abuse in the street pretty much everyday from all the people that got expelled from my school cause they think that they are "hard"

A short life, for the moment. It shouldn't be that way...
