Carifta 2012 [Bermuda]
#1
Hey y'all. I feel like I've been neglecting you guys, but it isn't on purpose, I swear! :p .

I've been super duper sick, with like the Fever and flu and whatever else combined, but I'm getting so much better. *Cough, cough* Icon16 .

Luckily though, I've been able to attend the Carifta Events so far and have met so many different people from different Carribean nations. Barbados, St. Lucia, Turks & Caicos, Trinidad and Tobago and so many more. About 26 countries in total I think.

Wait...? You don't know about the Carifta Games? Well here, check this out;
Carifta In Bermuda

It's being held here this year. Carribean countries from all over come to compete for Carifta Medals, being the Carribean equivalent to the Olympics.

The fastest runner to date set the record here, in 2004, Mr. Bolt (ironically).

It's quite the festivous occasion. The Music is especially awesome, because we all can connect to it Smile . It reminds me alittle of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, when all the different magic schools came together to compete and ended up bonding.

Just wanted to let you guys know if you didn't know and wanted to know what you know, if you do know. :p .

[I probably won't be able to check back until Monday, cause Carifta lasts until then and plus I'm sneaking on while I'm supposed to be on strict bed-rest Wink - Until next time, adeu Wavey ]

Its about sports... a sportsfestval... very unhealthy. I have done sports as I was much younger... it was not funny....I was sweating and smelling bad.
I think I have to talk to your mother... about your trying to annoy old people with sports...

Hope you feel better ;-)

I know right Supergrin . It's my mom's fault, she gave me her cold, and I got it worse than she did :frown: . And here I thought testosterone was supposed to be an immuno-supressant :p .

It is quite fun. My father's an international runner, and I would've been, had I continued to do sports. I like Sprints and Long Distance running and maybe some high-jump cause I'm tall  , so I enjoy sports, probably alittle too much Wink .

The food here is always awesome ;P . I was shocked at how so many other Carribean countries there are and how were so very similar. When our native summer music was played (which mainly consists of Reggae and Soca) everyone in the crowd got up and started dancing. I didn't think everyone would get up and dance, just Jamaica and St.Lucia and maybe Barbados, cause we're closer culturely to them.

Also, it's too hot to dress warm, all the breezy cold weather has died down and now it's a crispy warm day Whew . I've been drinking tea and what not, not to keen on medicine. We have traditional remedies that we use, like Match-Me-If-You-Can leaves, which when done right, can extract the cold out of wherever you put it.

@Fenris - It is sweaty, but I think it's pretty okay. It's not like the Olympics, where the atheletes are like inhumanely built and can do superhuman feats, although, some of the guys here are well built.

It's a bonding experience between the Carribean people I suppose. My mom's more into sports than I am. She loves football mostly though, but we have cricket and soccer as well. I just like track and field, because I used to do it. I showered right after I ran, so I was never sweaty Smile , plus it's usually breezy when the sun's out, so we don't sweat as much as you might think Wink .

& Thanks for the well wishes, I'm down to just a minor cough.
