I'm pretty sure my dog has ADHD, but I love her nonetheless. We got her at 6 months old and the old owners had abused her in my opinion, she's scared of so much stupid stuff.

No, not ADHD, but the outcome of abuse. Abuse is traumatic, and ends up rewiring how a person or other critter deals with every situation. "Behavioral problems" are very common with animals who were abused.

I had several 'rescue' dogs as past pets and each presented special problems to deal with due to their past abuse.

I would strongly suggest you to speak to your vet about the abuse, there are drugs to treat some of the symptoms, such as antidepressants for dogs who have depression. And there may be a local trainer who specializes in 'special needs' animals.

Time, and lots of love and rebuilding the trust in the animal will have a positive impact. But it is important for you to understand which behaviors of hers is caused by the abuse and which are not so you know how to deal with those which are symptoms of the abuse in a 'healthy' positive manner.

I'm fine with her as she is, she's just very very energetic. I won't be giving her any drugs.
