Asking A Guy Out
#11
Are you two guys planning to attend distant colleges / universities? I'd say "forget about it" if you're going to live hundreds of miles apart. But if there is some reasonable geographical closeness during your college / university time, go for it! I've found that long distance relationships are ... not so good.

if you can accept
-its not a relationship
-dont accept being treated badly
-have a Prez Bush style exit plan if you dont like him or friends

do it.

Hello,
I think the best thing to do is see where life takes you i mean if he likes you let him chase you because there is many more people in the sea and by the sounds of it his just going to plauy the shit on him card which i wouldntr want happenning to me

Thanks so much for your input, everyone - it'd been a big help in ordering my thoughts. At university, we'll be 150 miles apart - 6 hours by train. Pellaz, what's your thinking behind me accepting that it's not a relationship? Could you please clarify? Most of his school friends are my friends. I don't think he'll treat me badly; it's just that there's a real possibility he doesn't feel the same way about me at all. I'm still a bit unsure, though - is it OK to ask him even if I just mildly like him, or do I need to be madly in love with him before I ask? If he says no, will it be awkward between us - if so, how do I stop that from happening? Sorry, I'm new to this and am full of questions!

Hello,
I think before you go you may however wish to be in contact as friends and see how that goes first because least you can get away if need be a lot easier than if you commit if things dont go to plan...

Kindest regards

That could be do-able, but just barely. I'd go for it. If you guys fall in love one of you could eventually transfer to the other college / university.

But don't go into it with a lot of expectations about the future. It's totally okay to have safe and caring fun at such a young age, to experiment, to play.... And if it becomes love, great! But be light and easy about it. You're quite young, both of you. You'll likely have lots of different kinds of experience over years and years. Some will likely be lasting love relationships, if you are open to it.Confusedmile:

How much do you like him? You never know if you don't follow your heart. Or you can just be friends and see where things lead.

I don't know what I want - in my opinion, relationships (especially the first one - I have never been in a relationship before) are all about cancelling things out rather than only finding Mr Right. I might like the clubbing; it's just that I've been brought up to be the epitome of innocence and have never tried it. But I've enjoyed the tame school discos! However, I have a hunch that there's a darker side to him - not a bad dark, just a side that he doesn't want anyone bar his closest friends to see ... should I see this as a challenge, or something to avoid? I mean, everyone has secrets!

I know, right. Relationship suck. I never date before b/c of that and b'c i dont have opportunity like u. u r luckier than me, dude Confusedmile:.

But relationship is more than that. When life give u a guy, just date him and make the moment unforgetable. U'll know who is Mr.Right just in time.

So just ask him out, dont hesitate or u'll lose your moment... Confusedmile:

but there is something also say dont lose your moment.

Bsides, if it is Mr.Right, he'll find the way to go back to his love.
