With friends like us who needs enemies?

Believe me, I can point out flaws in Obama and his policies with very little incentive, and I do agree that it's likely he's playing politics here, but it's undeniable that he's done a lot for the gay community as POTUS (more than any other) and so if he's willing to talk to the talk then in this case I believe he's willing to walk the walk.
That said, I normally give President Obama a 50/50 chance of speaking the truth (but just to compare I'm more like 90% minimum of what most other politicians promise or say is somehow dishonest, so Obama is one of the more trustworthy politicians in my book).

I was browsing my friends list on facebook last night and someone i dont know from US who is a complete and utter bible basher was putting on her status how gay marriage is wrong and I thought to myself... Why dont you put the topic "Black marriage is wrong or mixed race is wrong or women shouldnt have rights? To me discriminating against someone because of their sexuality is like saying two black people shouldnt get married or two white people or mixed

Yeah, great thanks to him. Wish he could win the election coming.

ManicLewis21,
You seem annoyed to discover that Obama is a politician, and a good one (in the technical sense).

This can only be good news - waiting for the UK to follow suit.

I like President Obama and want him to stick around for another 4 years and plan on voting for him (even though because I live in NY state my votes don't count due to the way U.S. Government works). I like his personality, I think that he has done his best managing the fiscal crises, Bush gave him a shattered economy. It's always better for the LBGT community to have a Democrat as President.
However I am dissappointed in his failed campaign promises. He promised to deliver Heath care for all (we get a watered down bill that regulates the insurance companies), he promised immigration reform and the dream act, he never signed for the freedom of choice act, ensuring all women have access too abortion and stopping pro-life pregnancy centers , he said he wouldn't interfere with states that legalized marijuana, etc.
All these lies don't give me great hope. He's too nice. He tried too hard to cooperate with Republicans.
And the marriage support is politically timed, he's coming to New York City tommarrow to host an LGBT fundraiser with Ricky Martin at $3,000 a person. We can always count on traffic when the President's in town.
