Twazzle Wrote:I wouldnt class it as a book. More as an information guide or something along those lines. That's because you'd look at a book as being entertaining, which your book is not. But if it has many pages and is printed and still contains lots of words stringing into ideas, it's still a book, however boring it may be .

No its because I believe books have some story behind them and not set out like an instruction manual. Hey give an instruction manual a cover does it become a book? I think not. Revision guides, and study guides I dont believe are books as they are completely seperate from a living object basically. They just state how things are done?

A book is a bound sheaf of written or printed leaves... Call it what you like, but that's the word which is used... if not you wouldn't talk of a Telephone Book. Even a coffee-table book, which consists mainly in pictures or photographs is still called a book.
A definition from the Harrap's 21st century dictionary. I'm sure you'll find your book in there somewhere.
book (noun)
1 a number of printed pages bound together along one edge and protected by covers.
2 a piece of written work intended for publication, eg a novel, reference work, instruction manual, etc.
3 a number of sheets of blank paper bound together. Often in compounds o exercise book o autograph book.
4 (usually the books) a record or formal accounts of the business done by a company, society, etc.
5 a record of bets made with different people o kept a book on whether it would snow.
6 (the book) colloq the current telephone directory.
7 (usually Book) a major division of a long literary work o Book IX of Paradise Lost.
8 a number of stamps, matches or cheques, etc bound together.
9 (the book) an authoritative definitive source of information, instruction or accepted wisdom, etc on a given subject o tried every trick in the book to get the car started.
10 (usually the Book) the Bible.
11 the words of an opera or musical.
I believe definition 2 covers your book.?.?.?.?

Before you stuff definitions down my neck and bite my head off, I did state "I" dont count it as a book. People define things differnetly, not everybody has to agree with you, you know?
After all I thought forums you state what you think not have people argue against it.
Also back to the "you'd look at a book of being more entertainment", please dont say how I see things, you dont know me? so dont presume for me.
Sorry if that comes across harsh.
