Colorado civil unions legslation

a popular Denver mayor now governor who's last name is difficult to pronounce (Gov. John Hickenlooper) has extended the state legislative session to include voting on the same sex civil unions bill. Full same sex marriage is not possible because the state has a marriage protection amendment.

Technically he has not extended the Legislative session, he has called a special session. This allows the bill to go to further committees where it might be killed.
