the "man who killed it"
#1
background:
i live in Colorado/Denver, the south west part of the US. Where we are not as socially conservative as the south eastern part, in this area the only other state that has address same sex partnerships or marriage is Nevada. Denver Boulder have most of the population density in Colorado and are less social conservative than the rest of the state. The state is large and most areas have more cows than people.

Recently a very popular Democratic Denver mayor has make it to governor of the state. Along with fellow democratic political they set to get a Domestic Partnership Bill passed in an extended legislative session. It failed as in previous years but got further through the process than before. The legislator that officially pulled the plug is featured below in the linky:

The day that they stop characterizing partnership in gender specific roles and excluding sexualities other than 'normal' will be the days that everyones love for each other will be validated.

Love cannot be defined as 'between man and woman', so why should marriage be restricted to 1 man and 1 woman?

Couldn't agree with Daz, more: love is not a question of gender... and even in the Bible, it never was.
So I hope you get some great news about your legal partnerships some time soon, Pellaz.

I want to pay less taxes if I have less equality under the law...and on the same token I want the churches who feel the need to insert themselves into politics and/or the lives of people who do NOT choose to follow them to actually PAY taxes....that should wipe out a huge chunk of the deficit.

My bumper sticker on my car reads:

Peace, Justice and Equality
ARE MORAL VALUES

We have collectively allowed people like the GOP and right wing church peeps to define "Moral Values" for the rest of us...it is time to take it back!

Totally agree, I think that's why France voted for the new president, on account of the later one not coming up with the goods in those departments.

I heard he was a socialist PA...is he more liberal socially than Sarkozy? I am not sure how socialist translates internationally as far as being socially liberal?

Let's say he'll try (although it won't be easy in this economic context) to level society a bit more and not let greed raise its ugly head so much.

Not sure what you mean Zee, it's not as if we can all up and emigrate to another country, (even though the European Union is big enough).

This man lacks the balls to stand up for his son and his son's possible happiness. Yes, what a disappointment. (I'm writing this after listening to the video, see links above).
