Hey All! I'm relatively new to the site and as you may have guessed by my screen name I'm into biking. Bikes that you pedal.
My avatar is my x-ray and I have been recovering from 2 surgeries in the past 7 months that have resulted in 12 of my vertebrae being fused together along with all of that hardware. It has been the hardest thing I have ever been through.
Well, a few weeks ago my doctor gave me the OK to ride a recumbent bike (one that puts the rider in a reclined position). Today I went on a 30 mile ride with an average speed of 16.9 mph! I'm completely wiped out and my legs are going to feel it for days, I'm sure, but it was so worth it!
Just wanted to share a triumph with you all!!! It was a great day.
