Of course if I'm stung by a bee I could die, but most people don't. In all bee sting cases the bee dies.

Amazing picture! Both parties seemed to sacrifice a little something for that. But now I have to wonder, evolutionarily speaking, how did bees gain the ability to sting if they die whenever they do so? It doesn't exactly help with their ability to survive, no?
