It's a whole hand, but the thumb goes in the same position as the fingers rather than counterclockwise to em making the O ring around it.

Sounds like a golf grip lol

I usually use the whole hand grip, and often i throw in a nice nut tug with my off hand, plus I like to switch from right hand to left hand, change things up a bit.
