Might be MIA

Hi all ,

If I am not around as much as usual , please do not worry.

Terry is in ICU at the moment don't worry he is stable.
Respiratory arrest again , and once again there are going to be some doctors that I am going to fry.

I don't know why these people, keep prescribing Oxycontin and Valium to some who suffers from C.O.P.D .(Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)

I am on the warpath , meeting with his specialist and our family doctor today, they had better have some answers as to why they do not communicate , with each other before dispensing medication.

Worse still they never informed the chemist to put it in his Webster- pack.
So he was free to take the things at will .

Talk to you all later, I will keep you updated.

I'm sorry for your troubles.

Around here I make certain the pharmacist is aware of all of my conditions and medications I am taking then ask over and over again if there will be problems.

A lot of the drug stores now take the initiative to really speak with your doctor. I guess they got tired of being sued.

Medicine is so specialized now that no doctor knows everything. To the point they may not even know what they are doing themselves, let alone actually talking to each other and getting some idea of the patient.

Chemists/Pharmacists are usually the ones who know drug interactions and what drugs affect what condition. That is their specialty. But you have to talk to them. Your doctor won't and they often assume the doctor knows your case better or all the ins and outs of your case.

Anyway. Take care of you and yours.

(((Tish)))...I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers and I know with any doctor these days the patient is often more well informed than the doctor....maybe because they have alot of cases? (or dont' care?)

I have had to tell my last three doctors that their prescriptions interacted MAJORLY with another...my last doctor figured that out right away. I have COPD as well...I do hope Terry is doing better soon adn you can get everything sorted out. Bighug
