Don't know if you'd call it short lived but one of my all time favs was Quantum Leap. I think they ended it way too soon, but that's just my opinion.

Freaks and Geeks was one of the best shows ever. One season...almost everyone in the cast has made it big now...all of them were unknown at the time.

Yeah...I actually think I am gonna rewatch it...it was a fun ride.
