On the contrary, you can do something about it. I'm glad I wasn't cut as an infant, but that was only because my mother was entirely anti hospital, or I would have been. There are ways to restore your foreskin, they don't sound very pleasant, but it can be done.
I don't see any reason it needs to be done to infants. I know it's a religious thing for some, and I respect that, but otherwise there just ins't a reason.
As for hygiene, it isn't hard to teach boys how to clean themselves properly. As for disease prevention, I can't see it making any difference. the foreskin retracts during sexual activities and, whether you have one or not, you wash and, most guys urinate shortly afterwards. I doubt a foreskin has but a negligible impact on whether you get an STD or not.
