I need more art for my college portfolio! Ideas and suggestions?

I got a new graphics/drawing tablet in the mail about a week ago and now that I'm on Thanksgiving break, I've been wanting to use it!
Well, as I was doodling nothingness to get used to the size and feel of this new one, something occurred to me!
I'm hoping to apply for the Paris College of Art and I need more updated art for my portfolio since most of my major pieces are from at least a year go!
I'm working on some life drawing ideas (mainly gesture drawings of my ferrets and maybe some still lifes of my 6 cats while they're sleeping, plus some quick sketches of people I see at school) but I need more! I need things that show more of the creative side of things, especially since I'm really hoping to get into the Illustration department.
I need 12-20 pieces, and at least 10 need to be my still lifes and such, BUT I also need more creative pieces. Normally that's the easy part, since I work best from my mind than from what's in front of my face. I seem to be coming up dry though on ideas.
So, does anyone have any ideas on what I can draw?
Or perhaps some ideas to get the juices flowing so I can come up with my own ideas?
I know I need to work on scenery, so I'm working on drawing trees and such now, but I need other ideas.

Also, I'd love if someone took a look at my current portolio works and told me what you think! I don't have much, and some stuff is just conceptual for future, more official works.

I have more, BUT they're all stashed away in my portfolio and I haven't taken pictures of them yet :T I really should...
