^^^ Albus Dumbledore, in regards to the dementors (literally creatures that feed by sucking out happiness and hope, and steal your soul upon reducing you to nothing, they were based on the author's interpretation of depression).

(Haplo, the Death Gate Cycle) --- my favorite book series, the character in question here is questioning his own belief systems, which are militantly racist and uncaring for anyone but his own people, who were worse than he.
