NTACB I saw a "scientific study" about how cats are selfish and environmentally dangerous and it made me angry.

Rareboy Wrote:ntacb.....I had loss of vision in my right eye at about 5 am this morning..........concerned that it might have been a small stroke because of other symptoms.....time to call the doc I think.

I have been wicked tired after waking at 4:30 am and not getting properly back to sleep after......and then a totally stress filled day....mess.

I would also be worried about detached retina and/or macular rupture.. Both happened to me, and because I didn't react fast enough my vision is still distorted in that eye. Please let us know what happened.

Well I have read that letting your house cats outdoors is bad because they pointlessly kill birds for sport. I imagine that clay litter is also not too cool (we use biodegradable pine) but what other arguments did they make?

NTACB my deck building guy stood up not only me, but our mutual friend who was supposed to help us buy the material, and now I took time off for nothing.

I haven't had a recurrence....but my Doc away this week.....I did find out though that my INR is low...1.9...(should be between 2.5 and 3)....so it is quite possible that I had a small blood clot detach.

There doesn't seem to be any lasting damage to my vision though. If it happens again before he gets back...I'll probably head to the emerg.

I have had a bit of difficulty with memory and speech as well over the last couple of days, so when he returns, I think I'll get a bit of a check-up to make sure that I'm not having early CVA's since that has been an issue in our family.

By the way....I printed out 500 copies of that study on non-recycled paper and gave them to our cats to shred and then use as cat litter....or to wrap the bodies of all the rats and mice they kill in our house....they noted that the study was written by dog lovers.

The idea that cats are singularly selfish is absurd. And even then...I wouldn't have it any other way.

No more selfish than any other species. They are just more independent.
