Not That Anyone Cares But...
Insertnamehere Wrote:I don't find it strange that specific dates of national importance are not moved to other days, to be honest. It would take the entire meaning of the day away....I mean...no more Spanish King exploiting our resources?...YAY!!! (are you telling me Murlz that July 4th is moved elsewhere?)

The only movable stuff are October 12, cause it would seem that Columbus is just not that big of a deal anyway and Good Friday cause it's only Jesus getting murderer in a savage way..meh.

Other than that nope, xmas is xmas and new year is new year and if they fall on a weekend, boo freaking hoo, you have to work the 24th/26th and 31st/2nd just like any other day. Tis the way it is here.

NTAC

to mimic murlz, lame...

in murrica, if new years, mlk, president's, july 4, armistice day, or xmas fall on a sat/sun, the holiday is observed either on the Friday before saturday, or the Monday after sunday. ntacb I would despise it very much if those holidays weren't observed on the weekday. and if the company I work for doesn't recognize it, im changing employers.

No, July 4th is not moved elsewhere, that would make no sense. July 4th is July 4th. A lot of places just give you July 3rd or 5th off if July 4th is a weekend to keep it consistent from year to year.

I didn't realize you were so gung-ho about that actual meaning of Christmas that you wouldn't appreciate getting an extra day off of the job that you're so positive about on here. My mistake, now I realize you love Jesus and and your job now.

That is the sort of comment that make people dislike Americans.

NTAC

Well forgive me for wishing Suds got more days off. Feel free to dislike me for being so American about it. My bad. Also forgive Cridders for apparently being American about it too for thinking it's a "shite thing".
