Can you Choose to be gay?

I've had a break on the forum and done some thinking, I think you can choose or at least I can and I choose to be gay because I desire and find myself more comfortable with men. I dont believe you can be 100% gay / straight and people i've spoke to who are gay would agree.

I also discovered life needs mystery! lest we would get bored without the sleepless nights assessing our lives.

Still I pretty much completely agree with you Salty, love for a guy for me means no kids, but I can't guarentee my need for children wont overrule my lust for a male partner, so im taking the 'well im only young' outlook for now.

I don't think your being gay has to rule out kids for ever. Right now there are gay men and women all around the world who've had kids and are (or are not) raising them. Being gay, as Michael would probably point out, does not make you unable to function to father a child or children. It's just, as you pointed out yourself, a question of not being really into having a romantic attachment and a relationship with a woman... That's why Lesbians and Gay men sometimes get together as partners to make the babies... If you've watched Queer as Folk, then you know this is definitely a possibility, regardless of which path you take romantically and sexually. The only thing that needs to be carefully planned out is the conception.
But I'll admit that what might come in the way of anyone having children would be the fact of being (unfortunately) sterile, which, I gather happens to men more often than one thinks.
