In ancient Greece women didn’t start counting their age until their wedding day, rather than the actual day they were born. They believed the wedding date was the real start of a woman’s life.

Side note , that should go for every married couple. Wink
They suck the life out of you.

Many plants used to make tea come from East and South Asia, where the drink was pronounced cha. Since different languages pronounced the word for tea in their accent, it eventually began to be called "chai". So, really, when you order a "Chai tea", you really ordering a "tea tea". A lot of modern (Western) businesses started to add the word chai to tea to make it sound more exotic, thus attracting more costumers and making a better profit.

The word tea actually came from the Hokkien word for tea, 'te'.
The other Hokkien word used in english is Ketchup, which is often believed to come from the Hokkien word 鮭汁.

Lol, it seems there are different versions! :\

Just like how- here's another one, then- the word hurricane comes from the name of one of the Taino and Carib gods, Jurican (god of storms). But others say it comes from the Mayan god Hurakan (also the god of storms). Iguana also comes from Taino vocabulary... it means green lizard haha
