I just turned thirty in September. The fact that I am getting older does not bother me to much. The fact that I am growing older and alone is a bit disconcerting to me though. I have untreated social anxiety which controls every facet of my life. It puts quite the damper on any activity that requires socialization.

Well,

Seeing how I am going to be 35 in three months and how people would never guess that when they look at me. Getting older isn't as bad as I thought. I'm always told I look like I'm early or mid 20's. i even had a lady ask me "What are you, like 17?" Like someone mentioned, the thought of growing old alone is scary. That's my worry.

Pffft! I've been 21 for eight years, age seems kind of pointless.

I'm starting to feel it now, I noticed that I can no longer jump back into my work out routines after taking a month or two off, the day after I usually limp evrywhere and I now stock up on heat patches and sandwitch bags to fill with ice. And I can't lift anything heavy without a back brace or I'll be spending 3-4 days in bed from pulled muscles Sad. As far as finding a partner I would be ok if I could just be in one serious relationship before it's all over.

Plus I started losing my hair at 17 so I already felt old :p

I simply fear that my age is going to destroy my attractiveness and I will have to spend the rest of my days alone. Its the secret fear of all the gay guys in my gen. They dont want to be alone so they party the nights away hoping they can snag something real before its too late. apparently i still look like I'm 16 though. But as an artist i can clearly see my age kicking in. the little details on my face many people dont notice i blow them up like the forth of july. I can deal with my aging but i cant deal with having to endure the rest of my life alone. Its all too depressing. I must find a botfriend to give me strength! I've reached the point where the sex doesnt even matter. I just need someone to share my life with before its over!

Well I was you when I was 22, I looked 16. Forget about trying to sneak into a gay bar with a fake id like my friends. The good news it, when you get into your late 20s early 30s you will look more manly and hot to most people your age. It slows down too. When you get into your late 40s, people will probably think you are in your mid 30s. The catch is, your body wont do the same thing. You will get all the normal age related aches and pains. Even my doctor once said I was too young for something then she look at my chart and was surprised.

I swear, for some reason I get more attention now from men and even women then I did when I was young. Last week at a party some woman in her 20s was talking to me standing next to her husband. When a friend blurted out my age as close to his, she went on and on about how I did not look that old, she couldn't believe I was that old. Almost like she would not have struck up a conversation if she knew I was "THAT OLD".

If you hang out with people mostly your own age, you will be the hot one in the crowd. People will think you are attractive or take really good care of yourself. But they will not putty you for the same age related things they are going through. Because you look younger, they translate that to whinging. That is until you tell them you are as old as they are.

I have never had any plastic surgery, rarely take care of my skin and just this year starting to see a little silver in what is mostly very dark hair. Some people go grey really early in life, some never completely.

So looking too young now is a big plus when you get older. Speaking from experience.

Iam okay with getting older as long as I have friends to hang out with and hopefully a good guy to age with but for the most part I take it one day at a time and I embrace what my future may hold.
