In my living memory the world has end in 1981, 1983, 1989, 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2010...and it has always been messy.

I'll believe it when I see it; too many times humans have decided the world will end only to be proven wrong.

Now I'm not saying things won't get a bit weird but, a lot of that will be man made, not fate at all.

A bunch of inbred religious nuts forecasting the end of the world?
Sounds a bit like the Middle East to me!

This is so true, lol. They usually wait until the next day to postpone it, though. I wish they would provide some kind of notice beforehand.

I read a thing writen by nasa researchers saying the only thing that may happen in 2012 is a winter solstace. (mini ice age)
They have predicted it to begin around 21st of december this year.
The world may cool down enough to cause us humans a problem but not enough to wipe us out.

As for the world ending....they say nobody can scientificaly agree there is reason to believe the world will end in 2012.
There is nothing due in terms of major earth shifts or commets in our area. And the rumours about the planets all aligning is fake. That is not due to happen for a long time. (after our lifetime for sure)

MYAN CALENDER....
Just like a calender we have...it ends in december. And what does it do then?
starts over lol. back to january.
Hence...the myan calender starts over.
Alot of the believers dont seem to think of that though.

Its all fabricated by bored conspiracy makers who like to get people going lol

The Mayans were right. the world is ending - its currently doing it all around you.

We are currently in a major Extinction level Event. http://www.mysterium.com/extinction.html

90% of the ocean fish are gone: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/...cline.html

Corals are dying: http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20120905...oral-reefs

Climate change: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&safe=off&tb...35&bih=716

Peak oil with nothing to replace it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_oil

Hell, in reality is peak everything: http://reason.com/archives/2010/04/27/peak-everything

The world is ending - the world as we know it, and considering that the Mayans did predict that the end of the long count equates to a major change in the world (the end of the old world, start of a new world) I think they were pretty accurate.

I'm sorry for you young ones, you inherited a broken, over used, worn out world... Its just that my generation and my folk's generation were really good at lying about it all so you think you inherited a good, abundant world - the Age of Abundance is over.

I only found out about this AFTER I booked an Africa to London flight that lands on the 21st.

Oh well, could be a long flight ;-)

I agree with dfiant: I've lived through too many "end of the worlds" to give this one a 2nd thought -- except as an excuse to have a party! Today is 12/12/12, by the way, also very significant amongst the new age crowd. Just like the Mayan calendar, ours has arbitrary numbers and cycles which sometimes align.

I plan to spend the 21st celebrating the end with some very good friends, and look forward to seeing them again on the 22nd!

Hello,
Lets put this into perspective.... So we are a planet no we are not a planet we are just a bit of dust floating around a giant lightbulb in a large dark room. We all live on this little dust particle we call home and worry about the whole world ending.... How many other dust particles do you think are in the same room as us and how many come close to colliding with us??? Why dont we worry over those and only over little beliefs? The mayans got bored of building a proper calander so they decided to make up a fairy tale and say ok on this point the world is going to end as we have wiped out the entire village for a little bit of rain and i cant be arsed adding more pieces to it....

To be honest if it ended i wouldnt loose sleep because when you step in dog shit.... That squidgy sensation which gives you a slippery effect..... Thats us when it hits if it hits and if it doesnt hey the least we need to know is the sun will be turned off one day and no one will be here to replace the light bulb...

Enjoy my method in my madness

Kindest regards

Aunty Zeon xx
