Well, lets look at history for a few minutes....

Every decade or so, when the year changes from '99 to '00, it has been proclaimed "the end of the world", but we are still here.
in 1705 (or near that time) Haleys Comet was discovered, and some thought to be the end of the world, as it would hit the earth and destroy it. But we are still here.
Recently, 1985, 1999, 2000, 2001 were all years for "the end of the world", but guess what.
WE ARE STILL HERE.
The "scientists" even stated last year that this calendar was calculated wrong and even decyphered wrong, which gave the wrong dates anyway. So how can you believe anything these people say in the first place?

The Mayans made a calandar on what THEY considered to be a timeline from what astrological technology they had then, which was nothing more than rocks, twigs, and string. They could only guesstimate anything in the future.

Just because they conceived the "end" on a certain date, doesnt mean that its reality. Just as in the past, we will still be here.

If you want to believe anything prophetic, then take Nostradamous's prophecies in hand. Supposedly by his belief, the actual, physical end of the world will happen around the year 3,500. So, unless you are immortal, I wouldnt worry about it.

Now the technological end of the world is another story.................

if anything IMHO it would be a transition... the Mayan's weren't particularly good at predicting the end of civilizations or they might have predicted their own demise?

My mum told me about some chinese people proclaiming that the apocalypse would be brought about by the transition of the great almighty deity from Tibet into South America o_O
Well okay.

I think people are trying to work backwards here using the 2012 phenomenon as an excuse...

The Mayans just Punk'd us. Though I will say this: I just came home from a play that incidentally ended with a woman stroking another woman's hair while singing "this is how the world ends" over and over. Creepy. as. fuck.
