BP 117/70

Full heart and health check before being prescribed medication and dizzy spells is a known side effect.

Vivid dream are also a side effect of Chantix. Now the constant thirst and dizziness might not be. Since heart and BP are fine, I'd check blood sugar and, as Bowyn suggested sodium levels as well, either could cause such things as well as other problems.

Uhmmm, sorry, but you are incorrect. I'm not silly enought to do my own research before taking any medication. For example

Pleasae note dry mouth and dizziness as a possible side effect.

Full Physical and blood works prior to being referred to Champix has ruled out any possible adverse health.

I would have to say that there are too many alarmists in this world.

halfway through day 8, the first day of the full 1mg dose twice a day, the only side effect that remains is tiredness, but even that comes and goes. Not as thirsty and dizzy spells gone. Only 1 vivid dream in 8 days and even that wasn't a remotely unpleasant experience.

I have had 1 cig today, and that was out of habit rather than to satisfy a craving, I have 3 remaining and no intentions of smoking them. Tomorrow is quit day.

Who wants to kiss me first?

There are also too many that blow off things to med side effects just because it is a POSSIBLE side effect of the med when in fact it is NOT due to meds. POSSIBLE does not mean "This medicine will cause that, so it ignore all other possibilities if you experience it while taking this medicine." It means the med might, maybe could cause that but, other reasons for that can't be ruled out either.

Forgive me for being so niave and not over reacting, but you see I'm intelligent enough to do sums and know my body.

44 years no dry mouth and no dizziness, 1 week dry mouth and dizziness.
44 years no Champix, 1 week Champix.

The point I am trying to make is that some people give advice as alarmists, and if it were anyone else you could have made me panic, and if I was having health issues your alarmist apporoach would have had a negative impact on the relative 'safe' symptoms I was having.

If I was concerned about my health, the last place I would ask for advice is a forum and the last place I would take advice in regards to my health is from a forum. I have a qualified general practictioner, surgeon and lawyer I turn to for my health. This also happened to be the GP that treated and tested me prior to prescribing the medication and spent 30 minutes explaining and answering my concerns. He told me what to be ALARMED about and I have certainly not experienced anything that I should be alarmed about.

I appreciate your concerns, and no offense to anyone here, I would never seek health advice or take health advice in a forum.

The sole purpose for this discussion is to perhaps encourage others thinking of taking the same route as I know there is a lot of fear surrounding the use of Champix and I was hoping to dispell the myths as they were dispelled when I was concerned.

I know , it's pretty nasty , but your taste buds should be kicking in soon, and that is an amazing thing.

Day 9: BP 119/74 HR 64

Haven't been as thirsty today, but then it has been a lot cooler today than the last week and a half, and the humidity feels like it has dropped enormously. So second day on the full dose, absolutely no side effects. My mood is normal, sleep is unchanged, dreams? Don't remember them.

I could only tolerate 1/2 a cig today, and that is all I have had on QUIT DAY Smile
