review of Obama's success; do you think he has been adequate in view of a republican congress.

Obama signed the NDAA. That is reason enough to say that he failed, imo.
That made my vote an easy decision.
It seems like when I was a little boy of 11 years, people were freaking out about the Patriot Act. The NDAA almost didn't get reported on.

A thousand sandflies upon his testicles for that one act alone.

Good & bad. He's been the best POTUS the gay community has ever had. But his Nobel Peace Prize medal should be demanded back (I know it was given in the HOPES he'd do better and to encourage him to do so but that obviously fell through in a big way) and given to someone more deserving (not that he's the first who shouldn't have gotten it).

Other than that he's been fairly typical. No real change in politics as he (like so many before him) have promised, it's corruption and special interests as usual. In short, he's evil in my book, but less of an evil than Bush, McCain, or Romney, and he does have his redeeming features.

It would be nice if we had a system in which the best we had to hope for wasn't the lesser evil. But given the money thrown against any changes that would make it possible for someone decent to get in who wasn't just "the lesser evil" I doubt that will happen in my lifetime (or at least not until I'm really old, or the infrastructure collapses in a huge dramatic way).

Considering a republican congress has been working 24/7 to stall/stymie and not work with the White House on every single little issue... I doubt if Obama offered them a billion dollars each to do nothing that they would accept the offer.

Partyline politics have increasingly grow in this century. the 20th century saw far much more cooperation between the parties than the 21st century has.

Which is a shame, since bipartisanship is the only way out of the many energies that the US is currently in. Like that 'Fiscal Cliff' which only exists because the Republicans refuse to act in a bipartisan manner.

The most unequivocal defender of the rights of homosexuals in the US was given by Barry Goldwater in 1964. Since then not one goddamn shithead has championed the cause of gay men.

If anyone thinks Obama or any black politician is pro-gay, I dare you to move to the state of New Jersey. Blacks from Newark ride around in cars yelling epithets at 2 men or 2 women walking together.

On Tuesday of this week, I counselled a 14 year old gay black kid that he should try not to hate black people. He told me that I didn't understand as a white man, the indignities he is put through every day at a public high school.

I took pleasure in voting for Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican. He is the one politician in this state who has repeatedly denounced homophobia. As a gay man of 66, my eyes and ears work perfectly. If you think Obama gives a shit about gay men, you are one very stupid gay man.

In 2008, I voted for Obama convinced he would take a stand against black homophobia which spews from the mouths of every black preacher in the USA. I will never waste a vote on a black man again. I happily voted for Jim Harris, a Socialist.

A lot of people have not been told of Obama's contempt for White House employees. He refuses to learn their names. He calls them COOK AGENT WAITER BUTCHER or CANDLE STICK MAKER. He refuses to pose for pictures with his staff. The opinion of the Secret Service of Obama is well known, They will defend that man or his family with their lives. They remind people that if that black bastard falls down the stairs in the White House, he better know how to call 911. No one would waste their time to see if he is still alive.

A man who can't be bothered to learn the names of people who serve him on a daily basis is unfit to be fucking dog catcher. I hope Obama goes to hell. He and his black buddies can torment each other.

Meanwhile I get to see a 14 year old black kid who prefers to sit in a retirement home than to be bullied constantly on the streets of Essex County.

By the way, don't ever expect to see honest reporting on TV on the state of ethnic relationships in the US. The five fucking fairy godmothers who own the media insist that the media must be cheerful to sell shit to morons who still have jobs.

The US will die probably before I do in a hail of bullets fired by disgusted people who are being ignored by everyone. Congress could not wait to tell everyone in NJ to go fuck themselves after Hurricane Sandy. If fucking Mississippi or Alabama were hit, the asshole Obama would lick their white asses. He loves to lick white assholes. He graduated from Harvard and he will make close to one hundred million in speaker's fees after 2016.

I hope to see the coming civil war. It should be a pip. The media will say they had no idea people were so fed up.

Really? What had he done besides telling the Christian Right to go fuck themselves?

Obama originally stood for less inequality rather than full equality, but he has since evolved into full equality (and that equals anything Barry Goldwater did as far as I know). He has made multiple changes to national policy that included same benefits for federal workers with same sex partners, demanded hospitals allow visitation rights for same-sex couples (technically that is if they want any government payments, such as from Medicare), prohibited government housing from discriminating against gays, signed the repeal of DADT, stopped enforcing the DOMA (at least part of it), honored several gays and hosted the first White House LGBT pride reception in history, and much more. So I can't help but disagree with the notion that Obama has never championed the cause of gay men (and I can think of other politicians as well that have done so, though they're all too rare, at least once you ignore those who talk but not walk).

Association fallacy

Interesting enough how many black neighborhoods and rural redneck communities can be a lot alike (often distrusting higher education, hating homosexuality, enforcing strict conformity, and being conservative Christians). I must admit that while I personally know a handful of heterosexual blacks who are fully supporting of gay rights they're not generally accepted in their own communities (basically for reasons very similar why many rednecks shun and look down on me), despite that the NAACP supports gay marriage as a civil right. But just for the humor:

They're not The Borg. That is their skin color (some of whom can pass as white, btw) is determined by genetics, not by beliefs or attitudes, and they're not all part of some hive mind.

And btw, given that Obama publicly said his Christian beliefs didn't allow him to support gay marriage (though he supported less inequality) I don't know why you'd be convinced he would take a stand against homophobia. That Obama has stood up for the gay community really surprised me.

I'm not convinced that story is true, especially given how much BS gets spread about him. If true then I agree with you, but until I see proof then I'm going to say it didn't happen. And in any case if Obama goes to some mystical hell dimension I'm sure he'll be exchanging torments with buddies of many skin colors who share such attitudes.

Given your hostility to black people, how did you and him ever bond?
