Almost 40 and finally coming out.

Gemize with all due respect you speak as if being gay were on par with being a common thief of someone who lacks integrity. WTF. I'm wired differently than my brothers but I don't consider it "wrong"...

I mean, it would be one thing if you were a murderer, or a thief. That could be forgiven. But to have affection for someone of the same sex? Unforgiveable?

My God man are you listening to yourself.

I don't have to apologise to you or anyone else for being gay. I like guys. Hey, fuck you, man.

Whoa, Rover. I guess I didn't make myself clear. I'm not contrasting honor and integrity with being gay. I don't consider it "wrong" at all. I'm just saying that my past choices and reputation have made coming out easier for me. Even though I have a long-established straight identity, my friends are more likely to accept my sexuality because they know and respect me.

And by "past choices and reputation" I don't mean anything to do with my sexuality. Simply being a good father, neighbor, friend, colleague, etc. I hope that makes sense.

I think you might be my new hero. I really applaud your decision to come out. I wish I was as strong as you. I haven't slept well for days. I'm glad today is the weekend because I don't think I could go to work like this. Sometimes I wish someone else would just out me to my parents for me, but there isn't really anyone that could.

I don't want to spam someone else's thread with my stuff, but for all of you that are brave enough to come out, my hat goes off to you, really. I bet after doing that lots of other things seem easy.
