The date changes every night at 12am. Its done this for centuries. There is no reason for parties.

I will be in bed sleeping, waiting for the alarm clock to go off so I can go to work again....just like every other day.

We're staying in, making pizzas, and maybe watch a movie or play board games -- haven't decided yet. We're not into clubs/parties, and a lot of idiots here drink and drive around this time and it's suppose to snow-- so yeah happily staying home.
