Roxy Update

Nick9 Wrote:Kiki, no offense, but are you saying that in Britain a stranger (you) can insist that the patient's parents can't see him? Are you serious???

No, under normal circumstances that would not be the case at all.

Unfortunately due to the whole situation, back story ect. of Rox I was able to request that in this instance. It's hard to explain without actually spilling everything. It wasn't easy, I had to have a justifiable reason and proof, which they have on record.

I see. However I wonder if that was possible in my country. I don't recall if Roxy is of legal age (it's 18 here), in that case HE could make that request.

16 in the UK. He is, but being the condition he is in and the fact that at the time he was not conscious, I stepped in and made it.

I realized I had written it wrong. Legal age is the age when you can have sex, right? It's 16 here. What I had in my mind was, when you are legally adult (you can vote etc etc), that's 18 here. So at 18 you can say the doctors are not allowed to tell anything about your health condition to your parents (for example).
That would (I think) also be the case if he was 18, unconscious and not married (the doctors would inform his partner in that case). But I am not quite sure about that. Maybe the family has the right to know, UNLESS an adult patient forbids them to say a thing.

I really doubt it would be possible for you to do here what you managed to arrange - without police.

I hope he will be well soon.

LOL Yes that would be 18. He's just turned 19 lol. We had the police involved anyway right from the start and there's a record of this whole charade going back years now. So it wasn't like I just went up to the front desk and told them not to let anyone see him.

I had help doing that, and the doctors also agreed that it was something necessary.

Thank you Kiki for explaining it. I didn't want to push you, but I was a bit (uh, a lot lol) shocked that you were able to do that.

I really hope Roxy is well soon. On the other hand... will it be easier after he gets home? To keep the parents away? Sad
I hope so. Thanks for being there for him Bighug

Oh you lol! You can ask me anything ^^ not a problem.

He hasn't lived with his parents since he was 10 =) They never wanted anything to do with him anyway thats why I get so irratated when they pop up just to rip into him.
