i, having done the family thingy, in a previous straight relationship, tell me how a loving family, after living in denial with their son for 15 - 20 years does not know he is gay.

i congratulations you on being a emotionally grounded brave man in telling them you are gay.

the real expectation here is they give you the affirming emotional support that you are looking for. You have dealt with your sexuality all your life but obviously they have not. If they read get them some stuff on line and or amazon.com. There are some functional youtube information too. things along the standard lines; your the same person they ignored all their lives, as a gay man you yes you can have a great husband, children and career. Ask them to be involved in your dating, introduce them to your friends and lovers.

there is no reason why they can not share in your success as their parents had for them.
