Okay guys. You've convinced me. I'm going to message her today asking if she'll meet me before hand. Wish me luck.

I went to one of thos. They were very exclusive. Especially the lesbians for some reason. I didn't feel like I fit in so I stopped going.

These events tend not to have massive turn-outs, so I wouldn't worry too much about getting lost in a crowd.

Thanks again guys. I'm meeting up with her before the event, as well as another gay girl in my course. It's this Friday so I'll let you know how it goes afterwards.

Hello,
Meeting new people can be very scary and can be very aqward but the thing to do is be yourself.. Of course you get that feeling "everyone is looking at me" or the feeling of a spare part at a wedding but go along for yourself.. Take a deep sigh in the mirror and say right i need to overcome this... Whats the worst that could happen? Everyone turn and look at me?? So what its just a curious thing as someone enters its like asking whos phoned when a friend answers a call.. A lot of people get worried about this kind of thing but the thing to remember is everyone is there for the same reason you would be. To have a great night.
If your worried about people identifying you and questioning just say to them. I am here because I want to be here because I dont hold grudges in life and beleive the world is a free spirited place to be really. I am not looking around the room going shes a lesbian and his a gay guy im looking around the room and thinking how nice it is to see everyone coming together as people as lets face it this is the 21st century. Dont panic or allow the attacks to come with anxiety because this may be able to give you the courage to coming out realising that your not the only one in the world whos gay and your not going to be maybe one day coming out alone as every years thousands of people a\ll over the world accept themselves and feel inside they are ready to admit it.
If you turn up alone here is the plan of attack.. Go into the room and head over to the bar and order yourself a drink.. After paying just wonder around seeing if you can see your friends.. I have often gone to a club and sat on my own at a table and just chilled listening to the tunes and believe it or not eventually people came over and talked to me. If this happens dont clam up just pretend your on a rollercoaster because lets face it.. Once you get on you go with the flow and take whatever the track throws at you and you dont come off until the ride is over. Not knowing anyone can be the best way really because its only meaning your a blank piece of paper in the room that is waiting for a story to be written about yourself on it on how the night went. Once you over come the intitial going into the room it will get going and be alright... Your be nervous for five mins and then it will go trust me.. Dont cancel on facebook because one day your be doing this and thinking why did i dp that in my past i couldve just got in and it wasnt that bad..

If it helps before you go take a deep breath think of what your plan for the night is and set it out and i gurantee you your be alright and once your in your be fine Smile

Now hold your head high and get your mind ready for the night because you got a place to go to and remember its a rollercoaster once your in there your not coming out until home time Smile

Kindest regards

As a friend, i would tell you that its good to make friends in collage that could last a life time and you'll get in to the gay community at the collage which would also be good.
