my friends got into skyrim big time - not an rpg as such but more quest driven - they love rpg's like fable but really enjoyed Skyrim too

I've played that a bunch of times, but unlike my other friends who ended up
losing social contact with the outside world I didn't have a problem putting it down.

I liked it and the game is pretty much never ending, lol

Dragon's Dogma (a skyrim-esque jrpg)
Tales of Vesperia (more straight-forward jrpg)
Risen 2: Dark Waters (pirates)
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Dragon Age: Origins & DA2
Saints Row 3 (gta-esque rpg)
Alpha Protocol (spy rpg)
Dungeon Seige III (kinda like baldur's gate)
Lord of the Rings: War in the North
Mass Effect series (sci-fi shooter rpg)
The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings (dark rpg)

I have not got a chance to play any games recently I am finishing up the last classes of school before graduation. I currently need to finish The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings which I started but never finished.

Can you chalk me down for uber dork/nerd. I own a Nes, Snes, N64, Cube, PS, PS2, PS3, Gameboy x2, Game Gear x2, PSP, 3DS, Sega, Laptop, Custom built desktop and a Samsung Note phone (which I also game on). To which most of these systems are up and functioning.

Oh and I am also in school for a degree to learn to program video games.

Nice! I barely have money to afford the new console coming out lately. Sticking with my gaming laptop until graduation. I've always wondered, what is the program structure or hierarchy of modern games like? What sort of programming languages are used for modern games?
