Take a moment to be Superficial

I find twitter to be better. It's easier to gain news from people I actually care about. e.g. new songs from my favorite band etc... Not a great fan of Facebook.

I have a Facebook but never used it. I was forced to register by my old colleague as few colleagues were resigning at the time. "It's a good way to keep in touch", she said.

The thing is I am not fascinated by Facebook. I still don't get the 'actual purpose' of Facebook. I can keep in touch with friends via other mediums like mobile phone. I don't need to update my daily task every single minute to my friends.

Quote:how to ask a girl out;
Get that motherfucker alone, so no one else is with you. Sit her the fuck down and sit down right next to her. Give her something, like idk chocolate or whatever the fuck girls like, tampons or some shit. Hold her hands, both of them, not just one cause that's fucking pussy. Look into her eyes, deep as fuck, do that shit don't just think about doing it. Stay there for a few seconds, hold that position then when you have big enough balls ask the bitch out. Just five simple words "Will you be my girlfriend?" cause that shit's cuter than "will you go out with me?" After all this you will have a girlfriend then you will come back and thank me for this. Have fun being in a relationship fuckers.

Out of curiosity, why are there so many cursing words? I think communication can be done without profanity.

And the best way to ask a girl out? Treat her with gentleness, honesty, honor and respect.

heh I consider facebook to be a diary that other people update for me.
Reminds me of things i've done with people and keeps me up to date with other peoples birthdays and events.

I have never liked anything on face book, I dont' believe in letting facebook profile me in such a simple matter.

I've never really looked to see how many likes my posts have recieved.

I dont "do" social sites. My life is private and I only share it with people I feel i can trust.

And, as people are starting to find out now........posting your dirty laundry online for all the world to see comes back and bites you in the ass. Not only bites, but takes a huge chunk!!!

Pervs, thieves, and killers post thier "victories" on these sites, only to have the police or feds knocking down their front doors.

People have lost thier jobs, friends, and family because they post every little thing they do and say online.

My life is not a soap opera, even though its just as nauseating as one sometimes. But my life is just that...MY life. And it is not an open book.

These "social sites" will be the death of civilization as we know it. And its already taking a huge toll on people.

Just like the drug addicts motto.............JUST SAY NO!

That was a joke. But apparently you didn't get it.

I have FB and Twitter. I use FB for interacting socially with friends and family. I mainly use Twitter for finding out about events or news items within my general local. They both have their place. My FB account is partially public so not everything is open to the world.

I did have to read your post more than once, just to understand what it was you were trying to say. I think it says more about the younger generation and their grasp of the English language that your ability to ask a girl out (God knows how you would go about asking a boy out LoL)

Oh and while your stoking your FB ego, just remember there isn't a dislike button.

Hmm can your generation even grasp, that there are many who can live without FB or Twitter? Smile

I am afraid that the websites that encourage to post just very short "news" like I had spaghetti for lunch, are so successful, because people are lonely. We are looking for someone to share our life with. From one reason or another we don't have that special someone to go out with and have the spaghetti together.
Although, there is always a chance you would post I had lunch with X Wink

I often go through posts on tumblr websites. I don't have one myself, but sharing pics or quotes is closer to my liking than FB or Twitter or a blog.
Sometimes though, I am surprised what kind of quotes get very high number of shares.

I feel like the world has changed dramatically over the last fifteen years or so, but our mind can't keep up. I live far from my family, far from my office and all my friends are several thousands miles away. I talk to them more often than to my neighbor. I live among Czechs, but I use English more than my language.

Most of the time, I don't mind. Friends are special no matter where they are.

But there are times when I come across a Twitter news or see a quote on tumblr or catch myself sending an email to my partner when we are both at home, and I wonder if the technique didn't out run us, ordinary people, just too much.
Where will we be in the next 15 years? Will it this way of communication make us more happy?

Apparently so. I thought it was an advice. I've re-read and still unable to see it as a joke.

I think I'm getting old. Heh.

I have facebook but really do not add to it for personal reasons. It is a good way to keep in touch with family, I guess. I did have one HS classmate "out" me to my class (of 1970) and it ended up awesome! Ends up a LOT of us followed the same route in life. That was fastinating. There were many surprises and amazingly very little animosity. But I still think it is wise to keep it in check, justlike everything else.
