Hmm can your generation even grasp, that there are many who can live without FB or Twitter?
I am afraid that the websites that encourage to post just very short "news" like I had spaghetti for lunch, are so successful, because people are lonely. We are looking for someone to share our life with. From one reason or another we don't have that special someone to go out with and have the spaghetti together.
Although, there is always a chance you would post I had lunch with X
I often go through posts on tumblr websites. I don't have one myself, but sharing pics or quotes is closer to my liking than FB or Twitter or a blog.
Sometimes though, I am surprised what kind of quotes get very high number of shares.
I feel like the world has changed dramatically over the last fifteen years or so, but our mind can't keep up. I live far from my family, far from my office and all my friends are several thousands miles away. I talk to them more often than to my neighbor. I live among Czechs, but I use English more than my language.
Most of the time, I don't mind. Friends are special no matter where they are.
But there are times when I come across a Twitter news or see a quote on tumblr or catch myself sending an email to my partner when we are both at home, and I wonder if the technique didn't out run us, ordinary people, just too much.
Where will we be in the next 15 years? Will it this way of communication make us more happy?
