Life Where You're At?

Christophe Wrote:I live in Bretagne, so I think we have more or less the same animals around us... We have a rich wildlife, unsuspected richness if you're able to see it but one of my best memories is when I travelled in Australia a few years ago, I saw a lot of animals there...

If you're interested in wild life, Australia is a paradise*!! I saw a lot of tropical birds, like parrots and parakeets as familiar as our pigeons, and reptiles and kangaroos and others marsupial animals too*! I saw sharks, crocodiles and gossip girls too... Wonderful*!! Smile

I am fascinated with wild life xD Expecially marine life. I want to visit Australia, it looks like a paradise! I love birds as well, owned a few when I was younger lol. I love animals, I grew up with my pets being my main source of association and comfort xD I still fall asleep with my cat, she sleeps under the blanket with me.

omg Sharks! I really want to go swimming with Great Whites, but I don't know anyone who would go with me xD

Here in the capital of Canada, it's mostly just polar bears and moose with the occasional beaver thrown in Wink

Many easterners still consider Oregon a wilderness state. Sometimes I had to agree. When I worked as graveyard cashier in a minimarket here IN the Portland city limits we adopted a wild silver wolf and named her Dakota. She LOVED the slim jim pepperoni sticks. One of our regular customers was a veterinarian so she got her shots. She is now a resident of the local zoo and I am allowed to deliver a pepperoni stick when I go visit.
Then a few years ago we had a bear wander through the neighborhood, say hello then made a beeline for parts unknown. Also when hunting season started, the deer moved into town, knowing that they would be safe here. I watched a commuter in a pickup with a gun rack go into tears at the sight of a 7-point buck stopping traffic on the street in front of my apartment. Of course there are the usual racoons and coyotes and such, but they are to be expected.
Oh, and hiking I got inspected by a Great Horned Owl. I had no idea they were SO HUGE! It was like being buzzed by a glider! That was a awesome sight and I felt priveleged as I stood there and wet myself!

RainbowMum, you have three Magpies?

omg Polar Bears?! Have you ever had any encounters with them Eric?

Jim, do you have any photos of her? I've never seen a Silver Wolf before I bet she looked stunning!

Armadillo's are in the pet shop here :/ I have mixed feelings about them as pets T.T
