I've been reading a lot of Greg Bear recently . . . I normally don't read much sci-fi, but I had been perusing the forums of a video games I like, and someone mentioned von Neumann probes as a gameplay mechanic; in the process, he/she referenced Greg Bear's "The Forge of God." After being blown away by Forge, I immediately DL'd the sequel, "Anvil of the Stars."
Look up Von-Neumann Probes. If that sounds interesting to you, pick up some of Greg Bear's work. "Blood Music," in particular, is a good standalone short, if you're looking to dabble.

Haha seems like you have some light reading to do. I'm surrounded by books and can't seem to finish them before purchasing more.

On topic:
I'm currently reading a nutrition book that is beyond superb.
Healing with Whole Foods: Asian Tradition and Modern Nutrition.
It sure is an eye opener and has made me more conscientious of the foods I consume. It's an affordable book filled with great content. I would highly recommend it.

I'm also reading a history book based on the French and Indian War.
