My answer is, I find no place for it there. It's not offensive but just too unnecessary.

It's not offensive to me personally but can see why it can be for some people. Also, it's not really funny if I read it. A comedian reading it might actually be funny but I don't know. I do like jokes that are deemed 'too soon' and ones that people usually would get offended by. Generally jokes are not to offend but to make light of a situation no matter how serious the situation is.
