Colorado will have a Domestic Partnership law starting May 1st

the local government, has changed from having a conservative majority to the liberal Democratic party just this year 2013. I am really surprised how quick things are changing:
-gun legislation is being passed
-SS Domestic Partnership are possible
-soft drugs are being treated as they should along with alcohol.

the state (Colorado) has a DOMA clause embedded into its state constitution and till this gets removed, through pending federal ruling or other local legal or political action SS marriage is not possible. Keep in mind Denver the largest city here is sort of an island and the surrounding burbs and even the next largest city are highly conservative. The state is still mostly rural and dosnt have one tenth the population density of say NYC.

What's the chances of the bill being repealed?

It doesn't sound like it's going to stick around from what you've said, and until that DOMA clause is repealed, it can't be claimed that rights would be removed from citizens.

Marriage is not lumped together with Domestic Partnership here.

Its actually a good chance the current law will remain functional. The thing i could see change, if the gay agenda dosnt advance, would be restricting the new law to not include religious institutions. Example; right now catholic adoption agencies cant discriminate between gay or straight parents. A catholic hospital can not prevent a partner from visiting his sick husband.

Odd enough last years conservative legislation chose to vote down very similar legislation for gays, well, just because they could. Last year there was a religious exclusion in the bill. The republicans were reminded that they should have voted for last years bill if they didnt like this years version. We a broader law.
