Hello!
I know how you feel. I come from a "redneck" family, from "The South".
I made my own freedoms though. If people like me, they like me, if not...they know where the doors at.
This includes family too, who have never had any issues with me.
This is one of the BEST sites I have ever found for people to come in and talk, blow off steam, ask questions, or just putz around.
There are "touchy" subjects sometimes, but people on here have real working brains! Everybody knows we are just all human, have our own thoughts/feelings/ways, and even though some may have judgement calls, they also have understanding.
I love this place, simply because I have seen VERY little drama OR drama queens on here.
You can chat in the forums, or you can PM anyone you care to talk too on here, if you want it private.
