is it possible ya'll can step back and be friends to each other for a bit? who knows, it may or may not develop into something more. you have your whole life ahead of you...
maybe it will not pan out into a full blown relationship, but... ya'll may be great friends to each other
I've dealt with clinical depression before myself as a patient, he may not be at a point in his life where he is emotionally capable of sustaining a committed and lasting relationship.
If that may be the case, you may just be able to bring a smile to his face by surprising him with a meal, some flowers, a plant, maybe just showing up and making sure he is OK. Sometimes the littlest thing can mean a lot.
Worst case scenario, you have made a new friend?
