my adopted cat is quite content being indoors and is 16years old. I found them as kittens. It sleeps about 22 hours a day. I cant see this thing doing anything for the good or bad. Dont think it can see large objects any longer.

outdoor cats do a lot of damage on the environment and in tern their lives are about half that of an in door cat.

hmmm not what I expected when I read the thread title...

Stray, feral cats are a huge problem in New Zealand where, as essentially an invasive species, they kill native birds and harm our very fragile ecosystem. This issue has been radicalised by this crazy man who wants to go around killing cats left and right, he was on the news lately. The problem I think is that people need to take responsibility: cats, as domestic pets are companions, and they can't be allowed to go around wild, because it is their helpless nature to hunt our native birds.

This idea that cats are socially damaging is... o_O

But I loves the kittehs... Also it looks like nobody else is agreeing with this article judging by its comments. You can kind of tell it's rashly and carelessly put together from bits and bobs that in the wrong context might sound vaguely anti-feline.

I don't see why that whole bit on Egypt was put in there...

A..hem....

Now the Great And Powerful Mr Tinkles Speaks against this herecy!!!!

Morons, retards, dumbfucks, idiots, brainless dickheads. Yes, thats the kind of braindead douchebag that writes such bullshit.

Dogs have had thier own as being gods in history....Set, Anubis, and even a a city called Lycolpolis ("Wolf City") which was said to be attached to Royalty, such as the Lord of the Dead.

Dogs have been bred for food, fur, dog racing, dog fights, as vicious attack animals (not for protection, but for criminal use), and used and abused in a multitude array of animal testing...by food companies, cosmetic companies, and the government.

It is a crime in almost all US States to run over a dog, but nobody gives a damn about running over a cat. Ive seen it countless times on the road...people slamming on their brakes or swerving off the road to avoid hitting a dog in the road...but yet they AIM thier speeding vehicles at cats!

And yet, nobody gets put in jail and fined for murdering someones cat, but they DO get put in jail and fined for running over someones dog!!

As far as cats being "evil", there is no such thing. Only the retarded concepts of idiots and morons have put cats in this light. Cats are no more evil than any dog.

LIES and MISCONCEPTIONS about cats--

Cats ARE friendly
Cats ARE clean
Cats CAN swim
Cats CAN be taught
Cats HAVE been protectors of thier humans
Cats dont OWN anyone, that is another retarded steretype placed on an animal by idiotic and moronic HUMANS.

Ive taught ALL of my cats how to behave, what they can and cant do, and even some tricks.

My first cat was my most special...we were empathic with each other, and when she thought I was feeling down or depressed she would seek me out to cheer me up. She also walked right up to a very large, black Husky dog that came into our yard, and swiped him across the face with her claw...then came back to me and sat down. So dont tell me cats wont protect you.

Dogs have MORE retail, medical, and clothing options than cats do. I have yet to see any retail shop dedicated to cats, but Ive seen MANY just for dogs.

Animals are just animals. No more, no less.
Its the human factor that has made certain animals stereotypes, gods, devils, bad, and good.....HUMANS did this to animals. Animals didnt do this, they are incapable.

ALL animals have bad days, good days, headaches, they get sick, they love, they hate....but most of all, they know what loyalty is, unlike most humans who go around on a daily basis lieing, cheating, stealing, and treating others as garbage (even though some may deserve it)...but animals dont care. They either love you , tolerate you, or hate you.

There is a lot to be said for basic emotions.

No animal is more worthy than the next. No animal is more important than another.
Just like humans, we are all supposed to have a place on this planet.

As I have stated before, "Dont stick your stupid, ignorant labels and stereotypes on me".
The same goes for my pets!!

That does remind me, I used to live 2 blocks from a Catholic church that had a prayer gathering to pray for Prop 8 to pass that was so huge that it rivaled if not exceeded Easter for numbers of people parked for blocks around. The rude bigots blocked some driveways so residents couldn't get in or out including me and my partner which is one reason I'll never forget it. And that night a neighbor lost 2 cats to being run over. Worse, she saw one of them killed, too. She was still tending the dead one she found when a truck peeled out of there loudly and quickly. At first she was annoyed until she stood up and saw she'd just lost another cat. :frown:

Yep, no doubt about it, they have better morals than the rest of us. (Ok, sarcasm aside, can you imagine how evil they'd be in their heart if they HADN'T just come out of church praying to their god? )

I'd like to say it's thoughtlessness, but I think it's actual malice. One told me how a very vocal Christian took to poisoning cats in the neighborhood because she doesn't like cats, and when someone I knew was called a witch (ironically she was a Wiccan, not that their accusations had any basis in reality) her cats started being poisoned (and a very Catholic vet also tried gouging her when he put one poisoned cat down for her). And then of course is putting cats (even kittens) in cement (and other cat killings) to make a moral religious point on what good people they are (and they who do such things are going to Heaven while those who rescue their victims are going to Hell). Of course they do much worse, too... :frown:

ETA: I loathe this sticker and don't understand why people who sport it don't suffer a lot of slashed tires:

Which brings me to ritual sacrafices.....
They sacrafice ALL other animals, even HUMANS, but I have NEVER EVER heard of a DOG being sacraficed.

And if someone poisioned MY cats.......well, lets just say my cats wouldnt be the only things that died.

Don't worry my dear. Osiris will not smile upon those who have the nerve blaspheme against the goddess Bastet.
Bastet will curse them all!

They only disbelieve in the cat goddess Bastet, probably because they have some lifestyle they don't want to change. They don't want prostrate themselves before our feline superiors, so their hearts are hardened. Bastet will damn them all!
