Can't we just boil this all down? I don't care what party you are with. But if you respect me, then I will respect you. If you fight me, I will protect myself. Arguing is not an option, acceptance, understanding and total respect for the other is the only solution.
In short, if we cannot agree then be prepared to simply be ignored.

I cannot understand anyone who considers themselves to be a homosexual supporting a party that would openly or secretly oppose the rights of the gay community - it just doesn't add up
