Err wouldlike,there's a JAVA-based IM client called Mxit and it's taken SA by storm.Extremely addictive as it's on your cellphone so you can chat anywhere,anytime plus it's free.Unlike traditional IM clients,you don't use e-mail addresses to add someone to your contact list but you use that certain person's cellphone number thus Rowan's remark!My friends in Canada can use MXIT over there,not sure about UK.Just google "mxit download" on your mobile.
