lovers can become good friends, i never had the self control for that type of thing, if you want to explore this with your X you would not be the first. see if you can pull it off? can never have to few friends in life.

Hmm.

Do you know what it means to "hedge your bet"? He might be keeping you on the hook because he's not too confident in his current relationship. So he stays in touch with you as a form of "insurance" in case everything falls apart with his current BF.

But I could be wrong.

Maybe he's one of those people Pellaz wrote about who CAN manage to be friends with their ex-.

The bottom line is, no matter WHY this guy persists in staying in touch, if YOU prefer to have him out of your life, that is your right.

You just need to set some pretty clear boundaries, like: NO TEXTING, no phone calls, no post cards, nothing.

It's up to you. It's your life.

You can also chose to meet him halfway. Tell him you need some space for a bit of time (the duration is up to you). Tell him when you're ready YOU will contact HIM.
