I am ridiculously afraid of heights. I do love Roller Coasters, but if I'm walking in a building even just on the 2nd floor and I look down, butterflies in the stomach...

A fear of heights seems exceedingly rational considering the, you know, potential death factor. :p

And yeah 'squick' just means 'yuck', 'nasty' etc. I only learned about the term recently myself actually, last year or two
