Paolo Meneguzzi - 'We Were Amazing' :

''...I still know how to dream, fascinated by each rainbow, don't waste your life being cynical, dare to live like a child - we were amazing

Kele Le Roc - 'My Love'

''Here is what I could do - lie on a summers day, looking at the sky, dance with you in the rain - that would be so nice, and when the sun sets and the sand is warm, we can make love, shower you with kisses - my love ...''

The Big Country - Talking Heads

I see the shapes,
I remember from maps.
I see the shoreline.
I see the whitecaps.
A baseball diamond, nice weather down there.
I see the school and the houses where the kids are.
Places to park by the fac'tries and buildings.
Restaurants and bar for later in the evening.
Then we come to the farmlands, and the undeveloped areas.
And I have learned how these things work together.
I see the parkway that passes through them all.
And I have learned how to look at these things and I say,

I wouldn't live there if you paid me.
I couldn't live like that, no siree!
I couldn't do the things the way those people do.
I couldn't live there if you paid me to.

I guess it's healthy, I guess the air is clean.
I guess those people have fun with their neighbors and friends.
Look at that kitchen and all of that food.
Look at them eat it' guess it tastes real good.

They grow it in the farmlands
And they take it to the stores
They put it in the car trunk
And they bring it back home
And I say...

I wouldn't live there if you paid me.
I couldn't live like that, no siree!
I couldn't do the things the way those people do.
I couldn't live there if you paid me to.

I'm tired of looking out the windows of the airplane
I'm tired of traveling, I want to be somewhere.
It's not even worth talking
About those people down there.

Nobody will get mine, so I'll give a brief synopsis for all dem "slow-eared" people out there Wink

Gyptian - Serious Times

He's basically talking about violence and crime and injustice and how sadly it's a never ending cycle and that "De Yuth Dem, sittin pon de cornah" are set up and geared for this by watching the adults who do these things and that he wishes peace and harmony could be prevalent, but yet as his song title says, "These are some Serious Times" we're living in. Summed up in the Chorus and Verse 2 perfectly.

It's a old song, but it's still so applicable and I grew up on this type of music and I just love the messages. See, not all Reggae/Soca is homophobic/bad.

~
[Verse 2:]
Seh on the corner watch out on how you hang out pon di corner
A straight drive by mi si a gwaan pan di corner
On the corner di yuths dem really nah hold nuh order
A stray dem goh stray and lef di border
Caah from dat mi notice seh dem gaan dun deh gaah play
And new car coming and shot start to spray
Only innocent life and blood where taken away
So I seh

[Chorus:]
And I seh
These Are some serious times
All I can see round natty is violence and crime
Full time for Rass to centralize socialize and realize
To let the sun shine through out every day
And let the moon shine through out the peaceful nites
This is 7 times rise and 7 times fall but I dont really believe in the falling tings at all
Cause life continues as it goes if you really want to no the true of the true isnt been told
No no no no no

~

YouTube it if you must, it'll bless your life! I think I posted it on the "What are you listening to thread?" Wink .

Song: Who We Are by Ryan Calhoun

I find that I could relate a lot to the lyrics as a bi man,and it's a bit sad,but it reaffirms my resolution as a bi man.

Here it goes:

Mom and Dad
Don't worry about your son
I'll be ok
I'll take these days one by one
though the times are hard
I still know where I belong
I keep looking up so I can hold on

For now
I'll choose this life I live
And for now I'll choose to take my hits
Cuz at the end of the day all we have is who we are

Life hurry now
I'm running out of time
And I'm growing weak as are these dreams that are mine
Though the days are long I'm still running strong
I keep looking up so I can hold on

For now
I'll choose this life I live
And for now I'll choose to take my hits
Cuz at the end of the day all we have is who we are

For now
I'll choose this life I live
And for now I'll choose to take my hits
Cuz at the end of the day all we have is who, at the end of the day all we have is who we are

At the end of the day all we have is who we are

"Homewrecker" by Marina & the Diamonds

Every boyfriend is the one
Until otherwise proven
The good are never easy
The easy never good
And love it never happens like you think it really should

Deception and perfection are wonderful traits
One will breed love
The other hate
You'll find me in the lonely hearts
Under 'I'm after a brand new start'

And I don't belong to anyone...

Since it's Te Reo Maori, maori language week here in Aotearoa, here is my favourite Maori waiata Pokarekare Ana:

Pōkarekare ana
ngā wai o Waiapu,
Whiti atu koe hine
marino ana e.
E hine e
hoki mai ra.
Ka mate ahau
I te aroha e.

Tuhituhi taku reta
tuku atu taku rīngi,
Kia kite tō iwi
raru raru ana e.

Whati whati taku pene
ka pau aku pepa,
Ko taku aroha
mau tonu ana e.

E kore te aroha
e maroke i te rā,
Mākūkū tonu i
aku roimata e.

CHURCH OF THE POISONED MIND

Desolate loving in your eyes
You used an' made my life so sweet
Step out like a god found child
I saw your eyes across the street
Who would be the fool to take you
Be more than just kind
Step into a life of maybe
Love is hard to find
In the church of the poison mind
In the church of the poison mind
In the church of the poison mind
In the church of the poison mind
Watch me clinging to the beat
I had to fight to make it mine
That religion you could sink in neat
Just move your feet an' you'll feel fine
Who would be the fool to maybe
Trick a kiss in time
Who am I to say that's crazy
Love will make you blind
In the church of the poison mind
In the church of the poison mind
In the church of the poison mind
Desolate loving in your eyes
You used an' made my life so sweet
Step out like a god found child
I saw your eyes across the street
Who would be the fool to take you
Be more than just kind
Step into a life of maybe
Love is hard to find
In the church of the poison mind
In the church of the poison mind
In the church of the poison mind
In the church of the poison mind

Redhouse Painters - 24

So it's not loaded stadiums or ballparks
And we're not kids on swingsets on the blacktop
And I thought at fifteen that I'd have it down by sixteen
And twenty-four keeps breathing in my face

Like a mad whore
And twenty-four keeps pounding at my door
Like a friend you don't want to see
Oldness comes with a smile

To every love given child
Oldness comes to rile
The youth who dream suicide

Fever Ray - Dry and Dusty

Never leave me
Walk close beside me
Your hand my hand
Fits so easy

No tomorrow
Let us stop here
We did some great things
Didn't we?

Dry and dusty
I am a capsule of energy
You speak softly
We are capsules of energy

Work as I've been told
In return I get money
Small feet in the hall
And I long for every moment
