I just read about a colleague of mine that went bananas in one of his classes simply because one of his students asked him about the tests. He was suspended and will probably lose his job, that's how tough this profession really is. It could have been me

Haha, SenhorAmor, I think it's the fate of many teachers all around the world, but maybe especially in countries where education is supposedly free. What's free is not properly valued in today's societies, which is a crying shame, because the ideals of free education are wonderful.

Absolutely.

Because of the recent austerity measures in Europe, there is now a great debate over the possibility of high school students paying their school fees. This is an aberration. Most of those kids can't even afford to eat properly, let alone pay for an education. I had to pay for everything in my classes, e.g. photocopies, field trips, DVDs.
