yes it was in Chelsea, Pippin Antique Jewelry to be exact. Raining and both of us were quite wet, hard core NYC tourists on a mission. I had the flue, bit creeping in to pneumonia. I remember we talked about it after seeing the ring, how he would not be his mother's boy anymore. The subway gods guided us all day but we got lost returning back up town that pm, in a station around 7th ave, threw us off, it had two basement train levels.

When it actually comes time for the wedding will you guys get married in New York? or in Colorado with the newly passed civil unions law?

-thinking we will file with Denver County as a civil union. The state of Colorado has a DOMA clause enacted in their constitution back 1996 or so civil unions were the only thing that the legislation could do this year. I am wondering if the Unions will convert automagic to a traditional Marriage if the Supreme Court strikes down the DOMA laws.
-I am very nervous, the second time around. And still have the same lung infection as when in NYC. Guaifenesin ibuprofen, sudafed breakfast in hopes its even slightly antagonistic to the alien living growing in me.
-We have been buying real estate and most of my money is else where. The ring was functional but expensive. I need to get tenants on a property and we are closing on another.

a little key into whats rolling around in the background. You guys have any suggestings on how to proceed:
-likely mid week, presenting the ring; how should i dress (if at all), what should i say.
-where how should we celebrate, I have a few friends. He has more peeps.
-about October a work friend is marrying in NJ. Should we fly into Newark and leave JFK to celebrate?
-his homo band had a concert at a up stairs Denver Center Performing Arts, later they had 2 wedding ceremonies. I was in tears thinking of the first time. Any ways its the law here now.

I remember specifically voting against that DOMA amendment back when it was on the ballot .. didn't realize it'd been that long ago oh how time flies ...
I was deff glad to see Civil unions pass this spring.

Thats a tough one on presenting the ring...
On one hand I say have a romantic evening/dinner/etc - just the 2 of you?
On the other hand I say get some friends together & have alittle party?
Or maybe .. Denver PrideFest is this weekend (June 15/16), if you go to events like that (and want something more public), maybe you could wait til the weekend & do something there?
