Is HARRY POTTER dangerous?
#41
I'll agree that when reading the books in retrospect at a slightly older age, they're nowhere near as good as most people say they are, even if I still love them. Some of the things J.K Rowling planned out are proclaimed "genius" and people say stuff like "Oh my God it all fits in, she's some magical writing godess!" whereas I'm like "No... she planned it, like most authors would".

But argh, I hate it when people accuse the story on Christian values. The only way Harry Potter was ever harmful to children was the heartbreaking despair upon turning 11 and not receiving a letter. I actually think the protagonist trio makes for pretty good role models.

Hi All
Don't get me wrong, I have every respect for people who follow their religion in the spirit of what true religious-beliefs uphold IE do good be good

But really, this is not religion, this is fanaticism that is piggy-backing religion to satisfy a completely different agenda.

Any-how my take (for what it's worth)...
Of course Harry Potter is dangerous! How could he not be?
Firstly, he keeps me (and probably hundreds if not thousands like me) awake long into the night, causing me to be foggy and stupid at work, then, on top of that, I have to wrest with all sorts different images of him....

I mean he's so cute,& cuddly and phallic with his wand ( which he plays with a lot) he's got me committing a cardinal sin!

Shhhhhh..... Self-pleasure Sperm

(Or is that a sin only cardinals are allowed to commit?)

Laugh all you want!
Blisters are hell visited on earth..... Biglaugh

I'm an agnostic atheist man loving man who adores Harry Potter & anything else that brings back to life (oops) the child in me....

So where am I on the "baddie" scale?

Wade Wrote:MisterLove, and I do mean this with all due respect (I swear)... what the heck is it with you and exorcisms?

I'm just posting facts, not any interpretation or conclusion - I only gave my opinion on the case of Anneliese Michel, which inspired the movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

I do believe, however, that some cases seem more plausible than others - e.g. the case of Father Mathieu seems more plausible, considering the credibility and seriousness of the people involved.

A team of teenage exorcists trained by Bob Larsson is in London to get rid of demons unleashed by Harry Potter.

You,d think teenagers could think of something better to do, one of the most stupid things I ever heard, even more so because there teenagers, what a joke!

And even in this case, I'm not convinced of anything.

It seems that during the exorcism, Anneliese said that 'I want to leave the girl but your master (i.e. God) doesn't let me'

I find it hard to believe that a teenage girl can come up with such an abomination, this is exactly the type of thing the 'Devil' (if there really is one) would say: manipulative, evil, trying to cast doubt and fear in the minds of people.

And notice how she couldn't even say the name 'God', she said 'your master' instead. How freaky is that?!

Again, this is not the most plausible case of exorcism I've encountered but I don't want to pass any judgement - and this includes Bob Larsson, as well.

"promotes witchcraft".....OK.....when I see real childrean ACTUALLY performing magic, I'll kill JK Rowling myself..

Plus, I'm sure Vatican folks have been historically more dangerous than "craft practicioners"
