Hi, I am from South Africa an in my 40s. I have not really told anyone I am gay except a married friend couple of mine though I no longer hear from them. I did once tell another female friend in a drunken phone call to her though it was never mentioned again, we are still good friends. I am pretty much celibate and have never had a serious relationship. Mind you if I was straight I what probably be a confirmed bachelor as well. I tend to be rather reserved when meeting people and am an acquired taste. I was a teacher for many years though now am taking a sabbatical and will probably resume teaching sometime. I have a brother who is gay-friendly though he does not know. I enjoy politics though am dismayed by how politics is a playground for peoples personal agendas and would ideally live a socialist state where everybody treats each other like a huge family. I am a fan of Lego and Game of Thrones. I like the idea of having a loving partner but the reality would probably end up badly as I tend to be rather non-committal. I am amazed and heartened by the progress gay rights have made and if I where a gay teen today I probably would have little hesitation in coming out, though at this stage in my life I don't obsess with being gay and just live life as it comes. Hope the ramble was not too long-winded.
