Haiku
#1
A haiku for those that don't know, is a Japanese verse form that comprises three lines of 5, 7 and 5 syllables respectively.

I didn't compose this but thought that it could have been written by so many who use gay chat lines:

You look nothing like
your profile pictures do.
Tell me how you sleep?

Aww some haiku are SO beautiful and romantic. I have a book of Czech translations and I really like leafing through the pages.

Haha, that's a great use for a Haiku! Laugh
Just had a gander online and found this one, which I thought was kinda funny;

"A sailor's lament -
He's surrounded by young buoys
Never by young boys!"

That's a good one kidchameleon. Unfortunately it doesn't work in America where "buoys" is pronounced differently as two syllabls.

These ones are almost famous and appropriate for the age of the Internet.

Your file was so big.
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.

The Web site you seek
Cannot be located, but
Countless more exist.

Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

Program aborting:
Close all that you have worked on.
You ask far too much.

Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that.

First snow, then silence.
This thousand-dollar screen dies
So beautifully.

With searching comes loss
And the presence of absence:
"My Novel" not found.

The Tao that is seen
Is not the true Tao - until
You bring fresh toner.

Stay the patient course.
Of little worth is your ire.
The network is down.

A crash reduces
Your expensive computer
To a simple stone.

Three things are certain:
Death, taxes and lost data.
Guess which has occurred.

You step in the stream,
But the water has moved on.
This page is not here.

Out of memory.
We wish to hold the whole sky,
But we never will.

Having been erased,
The document you are seeking
Must now be retyped
.
Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.

Something like that although I heard one American say "Boo eez"

Here's a few I wrote:

Once had a PC
Recently switched to a Mac
What the fuck are apps?

No more mice for me
Now I just use a track pad
Turns out: greasy hands

Bought my first laptop
Put it on my lap, it burns
No children for me
